King's Gambit
Coming Soon
Every Move Has a Consequence.
25 years away. One life to reclaim. A whole generation to save.
"You can't win the game of life… if you can't win the battle within."
After spending 25 years in prison, King returns home to a neighborhood that remembers him as a legendary drug kingpin. His family expects him to reclaim his throne. His old associates expect him to return to the streets. His enemies expect him to fall.
But King has made a different move. He picks up a chessboard.
Using the world of Chess Wars, King begins teaching neighborhood youth the principles of chess—and the principles of life:
But King's success threatens people who have spent years trying to reach the same young people. As his youth movement explodes, envy, politics, territorialism, and old street rivalries begin closing in.
Then the ghosts of King's past return.
His estranged 25-year-old son struggles to forgive the father who wasn't there to raise him. His family wants the old King back. His former lover Angela unexpectedly returns, awakening a love they thought had died twenty-five years ago.
And then comes Victor “Viper” Stone—King's old drug-dealing nemesis. Viper spent decades building the empire King left behind. King's return already threatens his pride. But King's decision to leave the streets without the police, the competition, or the graveyard taking him down threatens something even more valuable: Viper's future generation of recruits.
Now the battle isn't being fought over territory. It's being fought over the minds of the youth.
And King is about to discover that the hardest game he's ever played isn't chess. It's forgiveness.
A changed man with a purpose greater than power.
His son. His hardest opponent to win over.
His first love. The flame that never died.
His partner in purpose. The love that believes in his future.
His brother. Still running the streets. Wants the old King back.
His old nemesis. He wants the throne—but more, he wants the future.
